Thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind are bringing the city of Rome to its knees, where hundreds of fire brigade operations have taken place on Sunday.

Many roads have been closed to traffic due to the fall of trees. The circulation (lines) of the Roman metro and some regional trains are slowed down.
Bad weather continues to rage on Rome for days struck by storms and strong winds. In the last hours, there would have been over two hundred fire brigade interventions in the city due to flooding and fallen trees.
There are still many calls that continue to reach the switchboard today, mostly due to roads interrupted by the fall of trees and branches on the roadways.
At the moment trees were reported on the Salita di Sant’ Onofrio, in via di Donna Olimpia in Monteverde and in Via Vitellia, where the streets have been closed.

The weather situation is not likely to improve in the next few hours: today thunderstorms should allow for less intense rains mainly in the afternoon.
Then starting from the early hours of tomorrow, Monday 18 November, a new and intense disturbance will hit Rome and the main cities of Lazio, with winds that will be moderate to strong in the morning and very strong in the afternoon.
