Missed your opportunity to snatch up an Italian holiday home for spare change?

Yet another quaint town in stunning Sardinia Island has listed homes – for less than half the price of your morning coffee.
For a limited time, you could be the proud owner of a historic home in the remote and stunning town of Nulvi – at a price of just €1.
That sounds too good to be true, there is a catch. While the homes themselves can indeed be purchased for €1, it’s worth noting the properties are in need of renovation. The lucky people who manage to score one of the five quaint and cobblestoned abodes available in the village will be required to provide a renovation on the property at their own cost. The town expects this would be around €20,000.
Three years from signing the deed, the refurbishment must also be complete.

This is all part of a plan by the Municipality of Nulvi to boost the town’s declining population and bring more tourism to the area.

Nulvi is a gem of a town in the province of Sassari, a historical region of northern Sardinia with a population of just under 3,000.
