A violent thunderstorm caused havoc for Rome’s City commuters during rush-hour on the evening of Monday 2 September 2019.

The torrential rain flooded the Colli Albano metro station, leading to its closure, and resulting in several entrances to S. Giovanni and Subaugusta stations being closed.
The floods caused by the storm, which was preceded by a weather warning, also led to the closure of numerous roads and tunnels around the city.
