A 100-year-old man has been discharged from Rimini Infermi hospital in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region after making a successful recovery from Covid-19, reports the Italian news agency Agenzia Giornalistica Italia (AGI).

Born in 1919 at the height of the Spanish flu pandemic, the man – identified only as “Signor P.” – had been in the hospital for a week before being sent home
The good news story was announced by Rimini’s deputy mayor Gloria Lisi who described it as “hope for the future of us all.”.
Referring to his advanced age and the high fatality rate among elderly Coronavirus patients, Lisi said: “He made it. Signor P. made it. His family brought him home last night. Teaching us that even at 101 years of age the future is unwritten.”
