The family of a loving great grandmother has paid tribute after she passed away from coronavirus. Hilda Churchill survived two world wars and the Spanish flu but died on Saturday after a short battle with the virus.

The 108-year-old, from Salford, did not have severe symptoms and her family had hoped she would pull through to celebrate her 109th birthday on April 5.
But she sadly died at a care home, four days after first showing signs of the virus, and less than 24 hours after testing positive for Covid-19.
Born in 1911, the former seamstress, was a popular figure with her neighbors and was known for her kind nature and baking skills. Mother-of-four, grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 14 had, also welcomed great-grandchildren.
