U2 frontman Bono has written a new song that he has dedicated to Italy and the quarantined Italians singing from their balconies during the country’s nationwide lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The new song, titled Let Your Love Be Known, is seen as a story of resistance and loneliness in a time of isolation.
It was posted on Bono’s Instagram account: ‘For the Italians who inspired it… for the Irish… for ANYONE who this St Patrick’s Day is in a tight spot and still singing. For the doctors, nurses, it’s you we’re singing to.”
Bono says he gained inspiration for the song from Italy’s balcony singsongs which have taken place since the strict quarantine measures were introduced 10 days ago.
