
The tree measures over 750m in height: its ‘roots stretch from near the city’s ancient walls while its star reaches the basilica of the town’s patron saint, S. Ubaldo, at the peak of the mountain.Each year the town’s residents, donors and visitors to the tree raise money for charity; this year funds will go to the international organization Save the Children.The Christmas tree will remain lit from dusk to late at night, until January 2020.
