An Italian pianist has treated local residents in Venice to a beautiful outdoor concert while sailing down one of the cityโ€™s most colorful canals.

Ever since Italyโ€™s lockdown measures were put in place to tackle theย coronavirus pandemic, the usually bustling Grand Canal has seemed much quieter than usual โ€“ but now, the soothing sound of a grand piano rings out over the water.

In the mesmerizing clip (watch below), we hear talented piano virtuoso, Paolo Zanarella (who likes to call himself โ€œthe out of place pianistโ€) say: โ€œAnother small gift for you allโ€ฆ Iโ€™m currently leaving Venice but I wanted to be with you for another minute. I hope this doesnโ€™t disturb youโ€ฆโ€
He then adds that itโ€™s his mission to take music out of the concert hall and bring it to streets and squares, where everybody can enjoy it โ€“ and judging by his spectacular playing and striking backdrop, heโ€™s certainly achieved just that.
