An Italian pianist has treated local residents in Venice to a beautiful outdoor concert while sailing down one of the cityโs most colorful canals.
Ever since Italyโs lockdown measures were put in place to tackle theย coronavirus pandemic, the usually bustling Grand Canal has seemed much quieter than usual โ but now, the soothing sound of a grand piano rings out over the water.
In the mesmerizing clip (watch below), we hear talented piano virtuoso, Paolo Zanarella (who likes to call himself โthe out of place pianistโ) say: โAnother small gift for you allโฆ Iโm currently leaving Venice but I wanted to be with you for another minute. I hope this doesnโt disturb youโฆโ
He then adds that itโs his mission to take music out of the concert hall and bring it to streets and squares, where everybody can enjoy it โ and judging by his spectacular playing and striking backdrop, heโs certainly achieved just that.
