There were reports of a powerful earthquake in South Italy (Crotone) on Friday (01h37), with witnesses saying it was felt in several cities of Southern Italy.

According to Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics, the quake measured 4.5 (Richter) and its epicenter was 9 km from Petilia Policastro in the Province of Crotone.The shock has also been felt in many areas of South Italy and in Sicily.
No damage has been reported so far. Fire service said it had not received any requests for emergency rescues but was preparing ground teams as a precaution.

The quake occurred at 6km deep 9 km distance from Petilia Policastro, Province of Crotone, and was felt in many cities of southern Italy.
