Venice city officials say 28 percent of the lagoon city has been flooded by waters rising 110 centimeters (more than 43.3 inches) above sea level.

In the next few hours, in fact, another disturbance will affect our region bringing – as Arpav states – “a windy climate due to the strengthening of the winds.
The tidal event will be characterized by a rather important astronomical component (81 centimeters) to which the effects of the perturbation will be added.
The abnormal season has so far presented the lowest minimum temperature values of the last 20 years. The average temperature of the last 30 days in Venice is 5 degrees lower than the same period last year.

The tidal value of 110 cm occurs very rarely in May: the historical archive of the Centro Maree reports only 4 cases from 1872 to today and this only confirms the atypical nature of this year’s spring.
