Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 lost contact with Indonesia’s aviation authorities after taking off from Jakarta, according to the country’s rescue agency.
The aircraft was scheduled to take off from Jakarta at 1:40 p.m. local time, the FlightRadar24 website showed.
The aircraft’s last contact was at 2:40 p.m., and authorities have started search and rescue operations for the missing plane, according to Adita Irawati, a spokeswoman for the transport ministry.
