A few days before the end of 2020, some Venetians hung a banner over the edge of the Rialto Bridge to say goodbye to a difficult year.
The anonymous pranksters meant “no provocation…just one of our usual gestures between irony and provocation, wishing for better times considering how hard [2020] was, both in terms of health and victims but also economically.”. 
But it hung long enough above the Grand Canal for several amused onlookers to take photographs.
